Częstochowa is known around the world as one of Poland's most important pilgrimage destinations, welcoming millions of visitors to Jasna Góra every year. Yet the city has another side that deserves just as much attention. Alongside its rich history and spiritual significance, Częstochowa has built a vibrant cultural identity, with festivals, concerts and creative events that bring people together throughout the year.
One of the highlights of the summer calendar is Frytka Off, a festival that has become synonymous with alternative music, great food and a relaxed lakeside atmosphere. Returning on 25 July 2026 at Park Wypoczynkowy Lisiniec, this year's edition promises another memorable day of live performances from some of Poland's most exciting artists.
A Festival That Has Become Part of Częstochowa's Identity
Frytka Off first took place in 2011 on ulica Piłsudskiego, an area affectionately known by locals as "Aleja Frytkowa" because of its many food stalls. From those beginnings, the event has grown into one of Częstochowa's flagship cultural festivals.
Over the years, the festival has been held at several locations, including the Czesław Niemen Promenade, before finding its long-term home in Park Lisiniec. Despite challenges, including a break in 2020, Frytka Off has continued to evolve while remaining true to its original aim of showcasing outstanding live music in an accessible outdoor setting.
Its reputation has been built on consistently strong line-ups featuring leading names from Poland's alternative, rock and independent music scenes.

Previous editions have welcomed acclaimed artists including Kult, Pidżama Porno, Dezerter, Voo Voo, Lao Che, Artur Rojek, Brodka, Mela Koteluk, Krzysztof Zalewski, Nosowska, Skubas and Karaś/Rogucki, reflecting the festival's commitment to presenting a diverse programme of contemporary Polish music.
Music and Street Food by the Lake
True to its name, Frytka Off is about more than the music alone. The festival's food truck zone has become an attraction in its own right, serving everything from classic festival favourites to international street food.
Naturally, fries remain the culinary centrepiece, paying tribute to the event's origins and giving the festival its distinctive identity. Visitors can enjoy a wide range of food and refreshments throughout the day while taking in the lakeside setting of Park Lisiniec.
